sj's picks of the week.

The Script has a new record out called Science & Faith. Indeed this is quite a genius of a record. Even though they hail from Ireland and are currently based in London, I've never been able to disconnect the image of them sounding like a bunch of New Yorkers. (don't ask me why or how) Regardless. you can easily distinguish that this is a Script record from Danny O'Donoghue's unmistakable voice and their distinct sound.

My favourite tracks: You Won't Feel A Thing, Science & Faith, This=Love

Science & Faith
Genre: Indie / Alternative / Rock

Kyte. Another band from the UK. With a more electro and ambient sound, and a lead vocalist with a really unique voice; this band really is a very easy listen. If nothing else tickles your fancy, the cute album cover should be enough to draw you in! Definitely something you'd play on a road trip, or when reading your favourite book armed with a cup of tea while the rain beats on your windows, and perhaps the best use of Kyte music (in my humble opinion) is as a soundtrack of life! Plug in your earphones while you ride on the bus/train or while you walk around or just sit and watch people. Try it sometime, you'll be amazed! Go listen to Kyte now.

My favourite tracks: Boundaries (Kyte), The Smoke Saves Lives (Science for the Living), Dead Waves (Dead Waves)

Albums: Kyte, Science For The Living, Dead Waves
Genre: Ambient / Pop / Electro / Indie
