Songs of the day, today!
I am not a scientist, But apparently they are..
Automatic Loveletter - Truth or Dare
Imagine rock + acoustic + emo. That's what you get with Automatic Loveletter. This American band is one of the female lead vocals that I listen to. Do you know the feeling when you find out the band that you know of releases a new album? It felt like I was on the journey together with them.
Whenever I listen to their songs, I get pumped up. I remember sitting in my bus ride all the way to my destination with just their songs in my playlist. Good times.
Sounds like: VersaEmerge / New Years Day
Genre: Pop Punk / Rock / Female Vocals
sj's picks of the week.
My favourite tracks: You Won't Feel A Thing, Science & Faith, This=Love
Kyte. Another band from the UK. With a more electro and ambient sound, and a lead vocalist with a really unique voice; this band really is a very easy listen. If nothing else tickles your fancy, the cute album cover should be enough to draw you in! Definitely something you'd play on a road trip, or when reading your favourite book armed with a cup of tea while the rain beats on your windows, and perhaps the best use of Kyte music (in my humble opinion) is as a soundtrack of life! Plug in your earphones while you ride on the bus/train or while you walk around or just sit and watch people. Try it sometime, you'll be amazed! Go listen to Kyte now.
My favourite tracks: Boundaries (Kyte), The Smoke Saves Lives (Science for the Living), Dead Waves (Dead Waves)
Bradley Hathaway
Elizabethtown Soundtrack
Wow. it's been 5 years since Elizabethtown came out and i'm still listening to the soundtrack and watching it.
It's one of the most played movies apart from Pride and Prejudice in my movie list.
If I feel like listening to good music, i'll just turn the movie on and let it run all-day-long, just listening to the conversations and music over and over again.
If you haven't seen Elizabethtown, you have got to see it.
Music for Sundown
Favourites.
I don't have to say much, if you're a fan - celebrate along with me! If you're not yet a fan or have never heard these people, shame on you! Okay joking. No but seriously, please go have a listen to these two bands. There's a reason I've loved them from long before and there's a reason their music still sends thrills, shrills and happy feelings up my spine!
I love how they've managed to evolve musically over the years and yet still maintain the sound that so distinctly separates them from every other band. Maybe it's just because the lead singer is still the lead singer. Mmhhmm.. yeah, maybe that.
That aside, today's musical extravaganza is brought to you by the letter......... J!
Until June
i haven't checked out their latest album, but here's what i have.
it feels like you should listen to these songs when you're all alone, on a chilly night. haha.
it keeps you warmth.

Aussie Awareness Day, Part 2.
Aussie Awareness Day, Part 1.
I heart Australia. Most people who know me know that. But they might not know that one thing I really love about Australia is the fact that there's an entire community of bands and musicians who write, sing and play really amazing tunes! These same people tirelessly and relentlessly tour their beloved country, forming really unique friendships with one another, and some have even become recognized in the US and UK. Most of all I love their unique flavour and sound, not to mention the Aussie accent showing up every now and again in their vocals.
So starting today, my friends, is Part 1 of Aussie-music Awareness Day! ENJOY! xoxo

Who needs a daily dosage of new music?
I admit, the only thing that made me stop at my tracks to listen to them is because of their album cover.
I tried to pick a favourite track, but I ended up sitting for more than an hour just listening to the album over and over again. If I have to chose a track that I would replay, it will most probably be Letters And Love Notes.
Here's a little tidbit for first time listeners. The reason why they sound like Mayday Parade is because it's led by ex-Mayday Parade lead singer, Jason Lancaster.

Sleeping At Last
Somedays this album speaks for my emotions.
Very very melodic and somewhat dreamy/mary poppins-ish. i love that the album is piano-driven and full of musical instruments.
French Teen Idol - Enlightened False Consciousness
I'm a sucker for electronica. And when the combination of ambient comes into the picture, it blows my world, softly. It's a perfect listen for some time alone or when you want to put on your headphone and close your eyes.
French Teen Idol is an instrumental solo project by Andrea Di Carlo that hails from Rome, Italy. His second album, Enlightened False Consciousness, was released in 2007. As I listen to the album, I couldn't help repeating the two tracks; The Longest Night, and the title track.
Am loving the melodies of the piano and strings.. Makes a pretty picture of an empty wide field with tall grass swaying to the breezy wind.
The best thing is, his album - Enlightened False Consciousness is free to download! Just head to his myspace and click the link provided to the full length album. If you have trouble finding your way to myspace, just click on the album picture.

my first love for an artist.
when i was younger, i used to think that i'll get married to jon foreman.haha. his voice, oh my sweetness, was and is breath-taking.oh well anyways during that time,i did some google-ing about him and found out that he was already married.what a bummer.it hit me right back to reality.
in 2008, i got my dream to see switchfoot live in malaysia. i went there with my siblings and friends. When the concert started with our very own malaysian bands ' love me butch' and 'altered frequency' playing for the opening show, we were all looking around for the best place to stand, and we were pretty far from stage. It was quite a long while before switchfoot started. so i called one of my friend Elizabeth and asked her where was she standing and she said that she was right in front of the stage and i thought, oh ok, i'll come see you for a while(i haven't seen her in like ages and the 'awhile' lasted the whole concert).there was a guy standing in front of us. so we were literally the second row from the stage. as we were talking and talking and talking, the lights went off.and so, switchfoot concert began. it felt so surreal to watch them play live, let alone see them so clearly right in front of you, plus it was my first concert ever. their showmanship is so good. their sound , their energy, is amazing. his voice, his voice, his voice, is just great.i was so happy when he started singing, 'hello, good morning, how'd you do' learning to breathe was one of my fav songs. half way through the concert, jon foreman decides to come down stage to greet his fans.i was like 'oh my gosh' he's so near us, he was standing right in front of the guy that was in front of me and elizabeth. since he was just there, haha, i streched out my hands to touch his arm. LOL. i shall describe to you what he looked like and how his body built is like. he was sweating all over,he had long blonde hair, he's tall, his arms were very muscular and blonde because of his hairy arms. haha. okay back to where he was, he decides to then stand on the railing and lean forward towards the crowd. that was pretty scary, just cause everyone started rushing and pushing and squeezing to the front. it was crazy. i was wearing my specs and it almost broke coz we were all squashed up together. in the midst of the chaos, i looked up and jon foremans face was right there, his eyes are so darn nice.oh and his sweat was dripping on us. i remembered thinking hopefully his sweat doesnt fall on my mouth.haha. he grabbed one of the camera from then crowd, snapped his picture and went back upstage to play. the band was amazing. you can really see that they enjoy playing music together and loving what they do. the concert was so enjoyable. singing and swaying to their music with my good friend was very cool.i wanna see them live again! i'm glad that all my friends and brother and sisters got to see them live too! so much fun!and that is why, everyone in the whole wide world should go see switchfoot live!
